The Search For Summer Weddings!

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

It was a lot easier than I thought it would be to plan my outside wedding and reception. In fact, it didn’t cost as much as an indoor wedding would have cost us. Having the natural beauty of the outdoors saved us a lot of money on decorations. The first thing I had to do was to find the perfect location to have our summer wedding and reception. I could have had our wedding ceremony on the beach, with a fun filled beach party reception, or an elegant garden party, but I chose a ceremony and reception in the park. I found there were several great locations that would work out perfectly for an outdoor wedding.

Since I never planned a wedding like this before, I needed all the help I could get. When you plan to be married in the great outdoors, it seems you have to have a backup plan just in case the weather turns from sunny to pouring buckets. It’s a good idea to have a tent ready to continue your ceremony if it becomes necessary.

In our original wedding preparations, we had a lovely canopy set up for the reception and a lovely trellis for our ceremony. I only had to get decorations for my bridal table and the reception tables for our friends and family. About all I needed were a extra flowers and my table settings, thanks to the already present beauty of the park. I thought artificial flowers would be best, since we didn’t want a bee invasion ruining our ceremony. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous and didn’t look artificial at all. Although planning wasn’t as difficult a chore as I thought, there were quite a few things to take care of. You want to make sure you have plenty of citronella candles scattered about, and that the rest rooms are within walking distance, and make sure your frosting on your cake doesn’t melt in the heat.

There was a variety of accessories available for the outdoor reception. Each of our guest had a park bench place card holder and the centerpieces were flowers arranged around a glass globe with citronella votive candles inside. I found very decorative favor boxes and used them to package the chrome bottle openers we bought for our friends and family as a summer wedding invitation. The most beautiful part of our wedding table was our cake with it’s gorgeous wedding cake topper.

While shopping for my wedding accessories I saw this topper and couldn’t resist it. They were customized toppers for the wedding couple. After I sent them a head shot of my fiance and myself they made our bride and groom topper to look exactly like us. What a wonderful momento of our wedding day. All of our guests were so impressed with our topper, they couldn’t stop talking about it. All the wonderful accessories I ordered for our reception and wedding ceremony came from the same place, including our champagne flutes and silver cake set. It was amazing all the super accessories you can buy online.

It was the perfect wedding and reception, just like I had hoped for. Thank goodness the weather stayed perfect throughout the entire ceremony and reception and we never had to put plan B into action. We all loved the super DJ and the fantastic job he was doing, and if I’m right, he probably kept the music and dancing going on for quite a while after we left to go on our honeymoon. A lot of good things were said about our wedding ceremony and everyone said they had a fantastic time at the reception. I couldn’t have picked a better place than the park for our wedding ceremony and reception party. I’d love to do this again and have a wedding renewal in the park, maybe for an anniversary, someday.Technorati Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

I got this Summer Wedding Ideas!

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

I didn’t have as many problems planning an outside wedding as I thought I would. It turns out that it was a lot cheaper in cost than it would have been to have an indoor wedding. Having the natural beauty of the outdoors saved us a lot of money on decorations. The first thing on my agenda was to find that perfect place to hold our summer wedding and reception party. I thought about a super beach wedding and reception, or maybe have it in a gorgeous garden, but I decided to have our ceremony and reception in the park. I was surprised at all the parks available for weddings.

I wasn’t really sure where to start, so I shopped around for some much needed suggestions. When you plan to be married in the great outdoors, it seems you have to have a backup plan just in case the weather turns from sunny to pouring buckets. A tent was suggested just in case the weather turns out badly.

We had canopies arranged for our reception and barring bad weather, planned to be wed under a lovely trellis. I only had to get decorations for my bridal table and the reception tables for our friends and family. With the park as our main theme, I basically had to make sure I had our table settings and maybe throw in a few extra bouquets of flowers. I thought artificial flowers would be best, since we didn’t want a bee invasion ruining our ceremony. The only way you could tell that the flowers were artificial, was by touch, they were beautiful. Although planning wasn’t as difficult a chore as I thought, there were quite a few things to take care of. You want to make sure you have plenty of citronella candles scattered about, and that the rest rooms are within walking distance, and make sure your frosting on your cake doesn’t melt in the heat.

As far as table décor, I found so many fantastic accessories for our reception. I had little park bench place card holders at each table setting, and little citronella votive candles in glass globes with a nice flower arrangement as our centerpieces. The chrome bottle openers we bought for our guests were packaged in beautiful favors boxes and given out as a summer wedding theme. For our wedding table, of course, was our fabulous wedding cake with a very unique wedding cake topper.

I found it while browsing online for my other wedding accessories, and fell in love with it. They do customizing for the bride and groom. After I sent them a head shot of my fiance and myself they made our bride and groom topper to look exactly like us. Talk about the best wedding keepsake you can get. All of our guests were so impressed with our topper, they couldn’t stop talking about it. Our crystal champagne flutes and silver cake serving set was just a few of the fantastic accessories I ordered for our ceremony and reception. It was amazing all the super accessories you can buy online.

Everything at the wedding and reception were fantastic. Thank goodness the weather stayed perfect throughout the entire ceremony and reception and we never had to put plan B into action. The DJ we hired was really exceptional and I’m sure that the music played on long after my new husband and I left for our honeymoon. There were many good comments about our beautiful wedding ceremony and fun filled reception party we had. The park turned out to be the perfect place to have our wedding and reception. I’d love to do this again and have a wedding renewal in the park, maybe for an anniversary, someday.
